Widely considered one the best Italian photobooks of the 20th century, Mollino's important survey of photography from its inception to the date of publication, including reproductions of his own work, and photographs by Man Ray, Edward Steichen, Edward Weston, Dorothea Lange, and very early Richard Avedon, among others. BOOK CONDITION: Fine; a solid, tight, clean cipy showing toning to pastedowns/endpapers, light rubbing and wear to the edges and corners of covers; in a Near Fine complete dust jacket showing light wear to edges and corners, a couple of small closed tears, one with some associated creasing to upper left margin of front panel and  light sunning to spine (2 archival tape repairs to jacet verso at left upper margin of front panel and to head of spine).; in a Near Fine wrap-around band/obi  showing signs of light soiling.
