Victor was a New York born British literary agent who was awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire medal for services to literature in 2016. Victor's client list was extensive including such high-profile figures as former Prime Minister James Cameron, Musicians Keith Richards, Peter Townsend and Eric Clapton, or actresses like Candice Bergen and Joan Collins. The book is warmly inscribed to Victor across the title page: "For Ed Victor, / The Great Prodder, / from Helmut, the / Biographer with / love. / Hollywood, 13.3.1990." BOOK CONDITION: Near Fine; a solid, tight copy showing light shelf wear to covers and edges, very light taps to head and heel of spine, light bumping to upper and lower rear corners affecting the extreme tips of the last 30 pages (but not affecting any photographic images), dark stain slightly affecting the extreme lower margin of the last 9 pages (again not affecting any images).
