Derek Henderson, 2005. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Sydney, Self Published (Derek Henderson), 2005. Hardcover with tipped-on image to front cover. First Edition, First Printing. 130 pages with numerous color photographic images throughout. A wonderful homage to the photographer's homeland, New Zealand, that fearlessly yet deftly combines the influences of Stephen Shore (Uncommon Places) and Joel Sternfeld (American Prospects) to create a wonderful and original document worthy of both influences. BOOK CONDITION: Fine; a solid, tight, clean copy of this desirable and increasingly hard-to-find publication.

Derek Henderson is a New Zealand-born photographer who currently lives in London. The Terrible Boredom of Paradise is a personal project Henderson had been considering for a decade. The photographs are the results of a 13,000 km road trip across New Zealand undertaken with his partner Margot Davies in the three and a half months during the Southern Hemisphere summer 2003/4.
