SIGNED/INSCRIBED and dated in the year of publication on the half-title page: "To Tony with / all BEST / wishes and / warm regards / and salaams, etc / Peter (B)"; Beard has also created an original tounge-and-cheek drawing for the recipient incorporating the alligator on the half title looking into a mirror asking itself "Which twin has the Tony?"; Beard has also added along the alligaor's back: "His scales are his pride". BOOK CONDITON: Fine; a solid, tight, clean copy in a Very Good Plus (VG+) dust jacket showing some overall fading, a few closed tears, some with assiciated creasing and slight loss, a small areas of loss to upper spine head. While copies of the 1990 Chronicle 2nd edition are relatively common, SIGNED copies of the 1973 true 1st edition are quite rare.
